Murakami Exits With Hamstring Strain, IL Stint Expected

The White Sox rookie slugger tweaked his right hamstring beating out a double play and could miss two or more weeks.

Munetaka Murakami exited Tuesday's game against the Tigers in the third inning after straining his right hamstring while hustling to beat a double play. Manager Will Venable said postgame the team believes there is a strain and will have more clarity after imaging on Wednesday. Venable indicated Murakami could miss a couple of weeks, making an IL placement likely. The injury interrupts a historic rookie start in which Murakami leads all rookies with 20 home runs.
