The Mets optioned right-hander Tobias Myers to Triple-A Syracuse following Friday's game to add a fresh bullpen arm to the roster. Manager Carlos Mendoza said Myers will follow a scripted program in the minors to build up his pitch count and length. After 15 days, the team will decide whether to return him as a reliever or insert him into the starting rotation. Mendoza described Myers as versatile and an important part of the pitching staff.
