Kansas City moved catcher Carter Jensen from his typical fifth-spot to the leadoff position Saturday as the team struggled to generate runs.
The Royals had scored just five runs over four games before Saturday, prompting manager to slot 22-year-old catcher Carter Jensen into the leadoff spot. Jensen had batted leadoff only once previously this season and twice in 2025. He responded with an RBI single and a two-run homer, helping Kansas City score six runs. Jensen has accumulated 125 of his 167 at-bats this season hitting fifth.
