Uribe Suspended One Game, Appeal Keeps Him Active

MLB disciplined the Brewers reliever for a dugout gesture after a strikeout, but his appeal means he remains eligible to pitch during the process.

MLB issued a one-game suspension and undisclosed fine to Brewers reliever Abner Uribe for making an inappropriate gesture toward the Cardinals' dugout following a strikeout in Tuesday's game. Uribe is appealing the ruling, which holds the suspension in abeyance and keeps him available to pitch. Manager Pat Murphy called the behavior unacceptable, and Uribe apologized to Brewers personnel but not to the Cardinals. Uribe also publicly criticized Cardinals manager Oli Marmol, alleging Marmol had made threats toward Milwaukee.
