MLB and MLBPA Exchange Opening CBA Proposals
The players' union and owners have both submitted initial bargaining proposals as the two sides begin negotiating a new collective bargaining agreement.

The MLBPA's opening proposal includes raising the CBT threshold from $244M to $300M and doubling the minimum salary from $780,000 to $1.5M. The union is also pushing for a competitive-integrity tax targeting teams that spend below $150M. Additional changes to revenue sharing are proposed to redirect more local revenue. Both sides have now tabled opening positions, signaling the start of formal CBA negotiations.
