The Pirates officially designated right-hander Justin Lawrence for assignment, removing him from both the active and 40-man rosters. The move creates space for starter Jared Jones, who is being activated from the 60-day injured list to start tonight's game. Lawrence, 31, posted a 5.32 ERA across 22 innings this season, with an elevated 11.3% walk rate and four home runs allowed. Pittsburgh claimed him off waivers prior to the 2025 season after four years with Colorado.
