Twins Set to Call Up SS Prospect Kaelen Culpepper for MLB Debut
Minnesota's No. 2 prospect joins the big-league club during a critical wild card race stretch, expected to take over everyday shortstop duties.
The Twins are promoting shortstop prospect Kaelen Culpepper, ranked 29th overall by MLB Pipeline, for his MLB debut ahead of a series in Milwaukee. Culpepper hit .116 wRC+ with 14 HR and 17 SB in 74 Triple-A games this season despite missing time with a glute injury in June. A corresponding 40-man roster move is required, with no obvious 60-day IL candidate identified. Culpepper is expected to slot into near-everyday shortstop duty, displacing veteran Ryan Kreidler, who owns a .443 OPS since July.
