Minnesota is covering the remainder of Hoffman's $11MM salary this season, while Toronto will pay $3.75MM of his identical $11MM salary in 2026. Hoffman, 33, carries a 3.94 ERA this season with elite strikeout (34.9%) and groundball (46.1%) rates, though a high BABIP has suppressed his surface numbers. He is expected to serve as the Twins' primary closer, pushing Yoendrys Gómez into a setup role.
