Marinaccio, 31, has a 4.99 ERA in 52 1/3 innings split between the Padres and Pirates this season, with his strikeout rate dropping nearly 10 points from his career mark. He is out of options and will go directly to the Reds' big league bullpen. If he performs well, Cincinnati can retain him for three additional seasons.
