The Braves designated Rowdy Tellez for assignment earlier this week and he has now cleared waivers, resulting in an outright assignment to Triple-A. Tellez has six years of MLB service time, meaning he can reject the assignment and elect free agency. His roster spot was taken by rookie shortstop Jim Jarvis, who is filling in up the middle while Ha-Seong Kim is sidelined with a finger injury. Tellez appeared in just 7 games with Atlanta, totaling 11 plate appearances, mostly as a pinch hitter.
