Boston placed left-hander Ranger Suárez on the 15-day injured list, retroactive to July 6, due to a groin strain. He left his most recent outing after recording just eight outs, initially listed with left adductor tightness. The team had hoped to keep him off the IL but could not. Infielder Brett Harris was recalled from Triple-A Worcester to fill the roster spot.
