Atlanta signed Carlos Santana to a minor league deal, per Jeff Passan of ESPN. The Diamondbacks released Santana after he played only eight games before suffering an adductor strain in early April. Arizona remains responsible for the bulk of his $2MM contract, with the Braves only on the hook for the MLB minimum during any time he spends on their roster. Santana, 40, posted a 2-for-24 line with a 30.8% strikeout rate in his brief Arizona stint, a notable decline from his career norms.
