Ranger Suarez lands on IL with left groin strain
The Red Sox ace exits after 2⅔ innings in his last start and is now sidelined at least through the All-Star break.

Boston placed left-hander Ranger Suarez on the 15-day injured list Thursday with a left groin strain. The move is retroactive to July 6, making him eligible to return during the Red Sox's home series against Baltimore after the All-Star break. Suarez, who signed a five-year, $140 million deal this offseason, left his most recent start after just 2⅔ innings when he aggravated the injury covering first base. He carries a 4-3 record and 3.15 ERA on the season.
