John Brebbia is signing a minor league deal with the Red Sox after being released by Colorado's Triple-A Albuquerque affiliate. The veteran reliever had a strong stretch in the minors with Colorado, posting a 1.62 ERA over 16 2/3 innings with a 30.2% strikeout rate. Brebbia previously signed a minor league deal with Boston last September but was not healthy enough to pitch. He is not expected to fill an immediate big-league role given Boston's strong bullpen, but adds experienced depth.
