Trade Interest Emerging in Reds Utilityman Spencer Steer
Multiple teams have called Cincinnati about Spencer Steer as the Reds slide out of playoff contention heading into the All-Star Break.
USA Today's Bob Nightengale reports the Reds have fielded trade inquiries on Spencer Steer. Cincinnati has fallen nine games under .500 and sits eight games back in the Wild Card race. Steer has two arbitration years remaining beyond this season, reducing urgency to sell but keeping the front office open to talks. He is hitting .247/.328/.421 with 14 home runs in 358 plate appearances, with his bat rebounding to league average after a rough June.
