New York is adding righty Dan Hammer to the active and 40-man roster ahead of tomorrow's series finale vs. Kansas City.
The Mets are selecting Dan Hammer, a 28-year-old reliever, to the major league roster for his first career call-up. Hammer was signed to a minor league deal last offseason after spending 2024 in Double-A with the Rays as a Rule 5 pick. He has posted a 2.16 ERA across 33.1 innings split between Double-A and Triple-A this season, with a 26.4% strikeout rate but a concerning 15% walk rate. He works primarily with a 95-96 mph four-seamer and a 90 mph cutter.
