Cubs Land Aaron Civale in Trade With Athletics
Chicago adds the veteran right-hander for his second stint with the club, sending minor leaguer Aiden Moffett and receiving cash in return.
The Cubs and Athletics completed a trade sending RHP Aaron Civale to Chicago for minor league pitcher Aiden Moffett. The A's also included cash to help offset the remaining salary on Civale's one-year, $6MM contract. Civale posted a 5.42 ERA in 16 appearances with Oakland and dealt with a shoulder injury during the season. This marks his second stint with the Cubs after making five relief appearances for them late in 2025.
