Roycroft Dealt to Tampa Bay, Heads to Triple-A Durham
St. Louis sent the 29-year-old right-hander to the Rays after designating him for assignment, completing the deal for minor-league RHP Trey Pooser.
The Cardinals traded RHP Chris Roycroft to the Rays after designating him for assignment. Tampa Bay optioned Roycroft to Triple-A Durham and designated catcher Dom Keegan to open a 40-man roster spot. The return piece, RHP Trey Pooser, is a 24-year-old 2024 10th-round pick who split 2026 between Single-A and High-A. Roycroft posted a 4.19 ERA in 2024 but has struggled badly since, allowing 27 earned runs in just 26 MLB innings.
