Philadelphia optioned Chase Shugart to Triple-A Lehigh Valley and recalled Alan Rangel to bolster the major-league staff.
The Phillies made a pair of roster moves, sending right-hander Chase Shugart down to Triple-A. In a corresponding move, right-hander Alan Rangel was recalled to the active roster. The transaction was reported by Phillies beat reporter Todd Zolecki. Rangel is now available for Philadelphia's pitching staff at the major-league level.
