The Athletics selected the contract of infielder Michael Stefanic, who previously appeared in two games for Oakland in May before being DFA'd. He was re-signed to a minor league deal and posted a .296/.405/.414 line in 453 Triple-A plate appearances this season. Stefanic provides defensive versatility at shortstop, second base, third base, and corner outfield. He is out of options but remains under team control beyond this season.
