The Blue Jays have officially claimed Paul Sewald off waivers from the Diamondbacks. Sewald started 2025 with Arizona on a one-year, $1.5MM deal and was dominant through mid-June, posting 18 saves and a 3.18 ERA. His performance collapsed down the stretch, allowing 17 earned runs on seven homers over his final 10.2 innings. Arizona subsequently designated him for assignment, and Toronto swooped in with the waiver claim.
