The Athletics have agreed to terms with infielder Jonathan Ornelas on a minor league contract, per reporter Francys Romero. Ornelas will report to Triple-A Las Vegas after opting out of a similar deal with the Yankees. He posted solid offensive numbers at Triple-A this season but has a modest MLB track record, hitting .208 without a homer in 32 big league games with Texas and Atlanta. Ornelas is valued primarily for his defense and ability to play multiple infield positions.
