Williamson IL'd with hamstring strain, season in doubt
Tampa Bay's manager indicated Williamson faces significant missed time, and his return before season's end is not guaranteed.
The Rays placed infielder Ben Williamson on the 10-day IL retroactive to August 6 due to a right hamstring strain. Manager Kevin Cash told reporters Williamson will miss significant time and would not commit to him returning before the end of the regular season. Williamson had been a regular part of Tampa's middle infield, hitting .247/.309/.332 over 270 plate appearances in 2026. Carson Williams was called up from Triple-A to fill the roster spot.
