Detroit traded right-hander Casey Mize to San Diego on Monday in a multi-piece deal. The Padres acquired Mize along with minor league infielder Gage Workman, while Detroit received pitching prospects Kash Mayfield and Jackson Wolf. Mize has posted a 2.70 ERA and 2.9 WAR in 86.2 innings in 2026, though he has made two IL stints this season with adductor issues. He will be a free agent after the season.
