Arizona cut the infielder from his minor league deal following an injury that had already cost him more than a month of action.
The Diamondbacks released infielder Jacob Amaya from his minor league contract. Amaya had been productive at Triple-A Reno, slashing .253/.361/.420 over 293 plate appearances, but has not played in over a month due to injury. His IL designation was escalated from the 7-day to the 60-day list before the release. Amaya's MLB career across the Marlins, Astros, and White Sox spans 154 PA with a .147/.183/.161 slash line.
