Edwin Díaz is being placed on the 15-day injured list with neck inflammation, per manager Dave Roberts. He had only recently returned from elbow surgery that cost him most of the first half, and has posted a poor ERA since his late-July reinstatement. Tanner Scott is expected to take over closing duties. Díaz is headed back to Los Angeles for additional evaluation.
