Nationals DFA Justin Lawrence, Recall Eddy Yean
Washington designates Lawrence for assignment roughly a month after claiming him off waivers, opening a roster spot for Triple-A Rochester righty Eddy Yean.
The Nationals have designated right-hander Justin Lawrence for assignment and recalled Eddy Yean from Triple-A Rochester. Washington had claimed Lawrence off waivers less than a month ago; he made seven appearances, posting a 4.26 ERA but walking seven batters in 6 1/3 innings. Lawrence, who has exhausted his options, has bounced around the league on the strength of his 95+ mph sinker despite inconsistent results. Yean takes his roster spot effective immediately.
