Phillies Add De La Cruz to 40-Man Roster After Contract Restructure
Bryan De La Cruz moves from a minor league deal to a Major League contract with Philadelphia, securing a 40-man roster spot but not yet a big league call-up.

The Phillies released De La Cruz from his minor league deal and quickly re-signed him to a Major League contract, placing him on the 40-man roster. He remains assigned to Triple-A Lehigh Valley rather than the active roster. De La Cruz had an opt-out clause in his original deal that triggered the brief roster shuffle. He has hit .254/.343/.426 with 12 home runs in 328 plate appearances at Lehigh Valley this season.
