Mets promote RHP Dan Hammer for MLB debut vs. Royals
New York adds bullpen depth by calling up Dan Hammer, 28, who posted a 1.77 ERA in 17 Triple-A appearances this season.

The Mets are promoting right-hander Dan Hammer from Triple-A Syracuse ahead of Thursday's series finale against Kansas City. Hammer, 28, has a 2.16 ERA and 1.26 WHIP across 33.1 innings split between Double-A and Triple-A this season. The call-up will mark his major league debut. It remains unclear which roster spot Hammer will occupy, as the Mets also recently recalled Xzavion Curry from Triple-A on Wednesday.
