Mets Add Christopher Morel on Minor League Deal
The 27-year-old infielder, recently released by Miami, joins New York's Triple-A affiliate with multiple opt-out clauses.

The Mets have agreed to a minor league deal with infielder Christopher Morel, who was released by the Marlins days earlier. Morel will report to Triple-A Syracuse and has multiple opt-out dates, with the first arriving July 15. The 27-year-old has over four years of MLB service, debuting with the Cubs in 2022 and later traded to Tampa Bay in the Isaac Paredes deal. He showed strong power in his first two seasons but has struggled to replicate that production since.
