The MLB draft signing deadline passed Monday at 5 PM ET, with Logan Schmidt, Cleveland's 59th overall pick, among only two top-10-round selections who did not sign. Schmidt is a 17-year-old left-handed pitcher from a California high school standing 6'4" with mid-90s velocity and a plus breaking ball. He ranked as high as 21st in the class by Baseball America. Cleveland loses the pick and Schmidt re-enters the draft pool in a future year.
