Hunter Greene Has Tommy John Surgery, Out Through 2027
The Reds ace underwent a full Tommy John revision, his second TJS overall, wiping out the rest of 2026 and almost certainly all of 2027.

Hunter Greene had Tommy John surgery on Thursday, his second such procedure after an initial TJS in 2019. This follows an earlier 2026 arthroscopic elbow surgery that already delayed his season debut until July 4. Because this is a full revision rather than the faster-recovery internal brace procedure, Greene is expected to miss the remainder of 2026 and essentially all of 2027. The loss is a significant blow to the Cincinnati Reds, who had built their rotation outlook around Greene as a frontline starter.
