The Detroit Tigers have designated catcher Jake Rogers for assignment, ending his run as the longest-tenured player on the roster. Rogers made his MLB debut with Detroit in 2019 and had been the team's primary catcher before injuries derailed his career. Eduardo Valencia was recalled Sunday to take over backup catching duties.
