Joshua Báez made history in his MLB debut by homering in all three of his plate appearances, hitting balls to left, center, and right field. No player in big-league history had ever gone deep three times in their first game. Jeff Passan had previously noted Báez's rare power after his first homer traveled nearly 450 feet to dead center.
