The Mariners have released catcher Mitch Garver, an offseason signing who struggled to produce in 2026. Garver posted a .175/.302/.294 line in 149 plate appearances, with a high 32.9% strikeout rate undermining his 14.8% walk rate. Jhonny Pereda will be recalled from Triple-A to serve as Cal Raleigh's backup. Pereda has hit .319/.402/.440 in Triple-A this season with strong walk and strikeout rates.
