Mariners DFA Jhonathan Diaz After One-Game Cup of Coffee
Seattle designated the left-hander for assignment to clear roster space, just three days after activating him from Triple-A Tacoma.

The Mariners designated LHP Jhonathan Diaz for assignment on Friday, only three days after selecting his contract. Diaz allowed one earned run in 1 1/3 innings in his sole appearance, a 7-4 loss to the Brewers. This is the third time Seattle has DFA'd Diaz since he joined the organization in February 2024. If he clears waivers, Diaz can opt for free agency rather than accept an outright assignment, as he has done twice before.
