Mikolas posted a 5.82 ERA over 116 innings this season, with a 11.6% strikeout rate and 27 home runs allowed. Washington timed the move to coincide with Mikolas reaching the 10-year service milestone. Prospect Jackson Kent will join the rotation in his place, making his MLB debut against the Cubs.
