The Orioles officially announced a two-year contract extension with reliever Yennier Cano covering the 2027 and 2028 seasons, with salaries of $2.75M and $4.75M respectively. A $10M club option for 2029 is also included. The deal buys out Cano's remaining arbitration eligibility and adds an extra year of team control. Cano has rebounded strongly in 2026, posting a 2.21 ERA in 36.2 innings with a 65.1% ground-ball rate, and the extension effectively removes him from deadline trade consideration.
