Daniel Palencia has been activated from the injured list and rejoined the Chicago Cubs bullpen. Despite his return, the Cubs have indicated he will not be used in a 9th-inning closing role. In corresponding moves, Javier Assad was optioned to Triple-A and another player, Arias, was added to the active roster.
