The Tampa Bay Rays have acquired right-hander Freddy Peralta from the New York Mets in exchange for outfielder Aidan Smith, second baseman Émilien Pitre, and pitcher Gary Gill Hill. The Rays are taking on the $2.47 million remaining on Peralta's contract. The move comes as Tampa Bay holds a 3.5-game lead in the AL East and looks to deepen a rotation that recently lost Shane McClanahan to the IL. Peralta posted a 2.70 ERA over 176.2 innings in 2025, leading the NL with 17 wins.
