Luis Severino was placed on the 15-day IL in late May with a shoulder capsule and subscapularis strain, then transferred to the 60-day IL in June. He has made no minor league rehab appearances. Manager Mark Kotsay told reporters there is not enough time remaining in Severino's throwing program to return this season. The Athletics are out of contention and have no incentive to rush him back.
