Skubal Lands in LA: Tigers Complete Trade With Dodgers
Detroit dealt ace Tarik Skubal to Los Angeles for three prospects, passing on a competing offer from Milwaukee.
The Tigers traded Tarik Skubal to the Dodgers in exchange for outfielder Zyhir Hope and right-handers River Ryan and Brady Smith. The Brewers, who held the sport's best record and a top farm system, were considered the leading rival bidder. Milwaukee's offer was headlined by 19-year-old shortstop Luis Peña, a top-25 prospect, along with at least two other position players. Detroit ultimately chose the Dodgers' package over Milwaukee's all-position-player offer.
