Rooker Done for Season After Knee Surgery Confirmed
The Athletics' middle-of-the-order slugger will miss the remainder of 2025 after a cartilage tear in his left knee was discovered at Stanford.

Athletics DH Brent Rooker will undergo surgery to repair a cartilage tear in his left knee and is out for the season. He has not played since June 8 and was placed on the IL June 12, retroactive to June 9. Rooker was batting .200 with 10 home runs and 29 RBIs in 2025. Manager Mark Kotsay called it a big blow, noting Rooker's track record of 30-plus home run seasons over the past three years.
