Burrows Lands on IL With Right Elbow Neuritis
Houston reverses Burrows' option and places him on the 15-day injured list, thinning an already stretched Astros pitching staff.
The Astros officially placed right-hander Mike Burrows on the 15-day injured list with right elbow neuritis, effective July 7. The move nullifies a prior option assignment after it was determined the injury occurred while Burrows was still on the major league roster. His return timeline is currently unknown. Houston's rotation now consists of Hunter Brown, Peter Lambert, Tatsuya Imai, Spencer Arrighetti, and Cristian Javier, with Kai-Wei Teng also already on the IL.
