The Astros officially re-signed outfielder Nelson Velázquez to a major league contract after he went unclaimed on waivers and elected free agency. Infielder Ray Delgado was optioned back to Triple-A Sugar Land to clear the active roster spot. Delgado had been recalled as infield cover while Jeremy Peña was day-to-day after being hit by a pitch, but Peña returned to the lineup Saturday. Velázquez, 27, was originally claimed off waivers from the Cardinals on August 10 and is out of minor league options.
