Braves Protect Brett Wisely on 40-Man Roster
Atlanta adds infielder Brett Wisely to the 40-man to block minor league free agency, a move driven by roster management rather than MLB plans.
The Braves selected infielder Brett Wisely to their 40-man roster per the MLB.com transaction tracker. Wisely, 27, spent all of 2025 at Triple-A Gwinnett, hitting .281/.399/.436 with 11 HR and 29 SB. The move is a precautionary one to prevent him from electing minor league free agency, not a commitment to keeping him on the roster long-term. He could be displaced by a larger offseason move and pushed through waivers.
