Brewers Re-Sign Richardson to MiLB Deal After DFA, Waiver Clearance
Right-hander Lyon Richardson cleared waivers, briefly elected free agency, and quickly returned to the Brewers organization on a minor league contract.
The Brewers designated Richardson for assignment last week after he made just one appearance, throwing 1 2/3 scoreless innings. He cleared waivers and elected free agency before signing a new minor league deal to return to Triple-A Nashville. Richardson, 26, has struggled at the MLB level with a 6.48 ERA over 58 1/3 innings but has shown better results in Triple-A. His path back to a big league roster remains uncertain given 29 teams passed on claiming him.
