Holmes Impresses in Rehab Start, Drawing Scouts from 7 Teams
The Mets righty, sidelined since early 2025 with a fractured fibula, looked ready to return according to rival executives who attended his outing.
Clay Holmes made a rehab start for the Mets' High-A affiliate, holding the Dunedin Blue Jays scoreless on two hits with three strikeouts. Scouts from at least seven teams — including the Dodgers, Yankees, Phillies, and Rangers — were present. Two rival executives told The Athletic that Holmes appeared ready to return to the majors. Holmes has been on the IL for more than two months after a comebacker fractured his fibula early this season.
