A's Rookie Gage Jump Settling In After Late-May Call-Up
The 23-year-old southpaw has posted solid numbers since joining Oakland's rotation, flashing the stuff that made him a top prospect.
Gage Jump, the No. 2 prospect in the Athletics system, was called up from Triple-A Las Vegas in late May. The 2024 second-round pick out of LSU has made nine starts since his debut, posting a 3.51 ERA, 3.31 FIP, and 23.5% strikeout rate over 48.2 innings. Jump was a highly rated prep arm in California before starring at LSU. His advanced pitching knowledge and low-arm-angle delivery have drawn attention from evaluators.
