Cardinals Fire Hitting Coach Brant Brown After Two Weak Offensive Seasons
St. Louis moves on from Brown following back-to-back bottom-10 finishes in OPS, wOBA, and wRC+, while retaining most of Oli Marmol's staff.

The Cardinals have dismissed hitting coach Brant Brown after two seasons in which the team ranked in the bottom five in multiple offensive categories. Brown had previously coached with the Dodgers, Marlins, and Mariners before joining St. Louis ahead of the 2025 season. Manager Oli Marmol's staff is largely expected to remain intact, with outfield coach Jon Jay and third base coach Ron Warner both being retained on new deals. The team will search for a new hitting coach heading into 2027.
